Study says AI lifts junior patent attorneys, but seniors keep the lasting gains
THE DECODER reports that an NBER trial across eleven U.S. law firms found Google's InFlow raised patent drafting scores, with bigger gains for attorneys with under seven years of experience. The researchers said that in unaided redlining afterward, only seniors kept an edge, while juniors showed no benefit.
Why it matters. For teams using AI in legal work, short-term drafting gains may not turn into better unaided judgment for junior attorneys.
